January Garden Video

I made a video about my January Garden!

In it I will share with you:

  1. The most recent changes I made in my garden

  2. My favourite places to sit

  3. The key plants in my January Garden

  4. Seeds to start now

  5. 3 DIY projects for 2024

  6. A walk through of my whole garden

Here it is:

This is my first YouTube video of 2024 and my first proper Youtube video! (All the ones I posted in December were actually Instagram Lives that I repurposed).

I was really nervous filming this and even more nervous putting it out into the world.

Especially because January is not the best time in anyone’s garden, right?

But I was brave and I filmed the video AND put it out into the world!

If you have any thoughts on it, I would love it if you let me know! Just drop me your thoughts elisabeth@joyfulgarden.co.uk.

So you can find your way around the video, here are the time stamps:

00:29 Welcome to my January Garden

01:11 Places to sit

04:58 The Pond

06:15 Star plants of the January Garden

07:53 Seeds to sow now

12:04 Projects for 2024

13:01 My whole Garden

Places to Sit

I am beyond passionate on the topic of gardens needing LOADS of places to sit. Way more than you would think. I have 5 sitting areas in my medium sized garden and am planning on adding at least another 2 this year.

My most recent addition was this arbour. It is a brilliant place to sit if it is raining (which it does quite a lot, seeing as it is January and I live in Edinburgh).

It has been so lovely having somewhere to sit in the rain and still enjoy the garden.

Seeds to Sow Now

There is actually only one seed I would definitely sow in January BUT I got carried away and sowed way more (I promised myself I wouldn’t get carried away but I always do…)

ANYWAY the one seed you should definitely sow now:

  • Cobea Scandens

And If you want to sow another:

  • Sweet Peas

Why Cobea? You’ll need to watch the video! ⬆️

Thank you for stopping by my little patch. And I hope you have a wonderful day in your garden
