Finding Joy and Meaning in Shared Experiences
As mothers, our days often revolve around a never-ending cycle of cooking, cleaning, working, and caring for our children. While fulfilling, this solo journey can sometimes feel isolating, especially during the festive season. This year, I encourage you to join me in the 10 Calm Minutes Challenge, a journey to rediscover the joy in shared experiences and genuine connections
The Loneliness of Festive Preparations
During the run-up to Christmas, the workload intensifies. Preparations, often done alone, can feel overwhelming and devoid of the communal joy that the actual day brings. However, the essence of true happiness lies in sharing these experiences. Just a few doors down, another mom might be going through the same routines. Imagine the difference it could make to tackle these tasks together, turning them into moments of connection and joy.
My Personal Journey in Edinburgh
I understand this all too well. Having moved to Edinburgh twice, first as a teenager and later as a mother, I battled profound loneliness. Initially, I blamed the city, but I realised it was the lack of meaningful connections that weighed heavily on me. It wasn't until my son started school and I met a group of incredible women that Edinburgh started to feel like home.
Embrace the Season with Honesty and Connection
Be honest with your friends about the challenges of the festive season. This honesty lays the foundation for deep, meaningful friendships that bring joy and significance to our lives.
Together, let's let go of festive stress and connect with what truly matters. Share this message with two friends and invite them to join us in creating a calmer, more connected Christmas.
This is the Workbook I talked about:
ANYWAY…
Fast forward to Christmas 2023, and now I am a huge believer in choosing to only do the things that bring meaning and joy to you and your family at Christmas time (and all other times of the year, too).
So this year to have more joy and less stress
We are spending 10 Calm Minutes
In the Garden everyday from 24.11 until 24.12.
We will use that time to reconnect with what really matters to us and our families!
P.S. My Free Calm Christmas Workbook is finished! To get it just here ⬇️
