Wonder Not Perfection: Finding Joy in the Simple Things This Christmas
As mothers, our days often revolve around a never-ending cycle of cooking, cleaning, working, and caring for our children. While fulfilling, this solo journey can sometimes feel isolating, especially during the festive season. This year, I encourage you to join me in the 10 Calm Minutes Challenge, a journey to rediscover the joy in shared experiences and genuine connections
Hello, amazing mums!
As we dive into the festive season, the joy and chaos of Christmas can sometimes feel overwhelming. I'm Elisabeth from Joyful Garden, and this year, I'm determined to help us all find a little more calm and joy amidst the holiday whirlwind. That's why I'm thrilled to introduce the "10 Calm Minutes Challenge."
What's the 10 Calm Minutes Challenge?
From November 24th to December 24th, I invite you to join me in the garden for just 10 minutes each day. Let's escape the festive frenzy and reconnect with nature's tranquility. It's an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and focus on what truly matters.
Details:
Challenge Duration: November 24th - December 24th
Daily Commitment: 10 minutes in your garden
Live Sessions: Join me live at 8:10 AM every morning
Today's Focus: Joy in Simplicity
This challenge isn't just about finding peace; it's about discovering joy in doing less. Take my daughter's recent birthday party as an example. It was special and memorable, but the highlight for me was a simple change I made - buying a chocolate sheet cake instead of baking one. This small act significantly reduced stress, allowing me to enjoy the moment more.
Here's the Fun Part:
I've found joy in simplicity, like providing a plethora of sprinkles for the kids to decorate their cake slices. Their laughter and excitement were priceless, proving that sometimes, less is more.
Ideas for Simplifying Your Christmas:
🍪 Decorate store-bought biscuits instead of baking from scratch.
🎁 Consider skipping gifts for adults in the family.
🍽️ Opt for ready-made dishes to ease your Christmas Day kitchen time.
But Remember:
If something like baking the cake brings you joy, embrace it! This is about eliminating the parts that don't bring you happiness and simplifying where you can.
Upcoming Event:
Don't miss out on our Parent and Child Wreath Making session at Leaf and Bean on December 5th, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Book your spot here: Parent-Child Wreath Making Session
Let's make this Christmas about wonder, not perfection. Join me in finding joy in the simple things, and let's make this season a truly joyful one!
Warmly,
Elisabeth
This is the Workbook I talked about:
ANYWAY…
Fast forward to Christmas 2023, and now I am a huge believer in choosing to only do the things that bring meaning and joy to you and your family at Christmas time (and all other times of the year, too).
So this year to have more joy and less stress
We are spending 10 Calm Minutes
In the Garden everyday from 24.11 until 24.12.
We will use that time to reconnect with what really matters to us and our families!
